Songs on which he has been lead rapper or co-rapper include “X,” “No Heart,” “Sneakin,'” “Bank Account,” “Ric Flair Drip,” “Rockstar,” “A Lot,” “Runnin,” “Mr. Right Now,” and “Jimmy Cooks.” He has appeared in the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II .
21 Savage was born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph in Newham, London, England, the son of Heather Carmillia (Joseph) and Kevin Cornelius Emmons, who has worked for the Westminster City Council. His parents are British-born. He is said to be of Haitian and Saint Vincentian origin on his father’s side, and Dominican, from Dominica, descent on his mother’s side. He was raised by his mother, who brought him with her to Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., when he was seven. His twin sisters are dance choreographers Kyra Davis and Jayda Davis. He is a cousin of rapper and songwriter Young Nudy.
21 Savage grew up in the West African, Ifá religion and divination system, which he practices.
21 Savage has three children.
In 2019, he was arrested by U.S. immigration services, which accused him of having been in the U.S. illegally since 2006. He had received an H-4 visa for a year in 2005. He was previously reported explicitly or implicitly in various media outlets as having been born in Atlanta, Georgia, which is incorrect. He was released from ICE custody. He appears to have received a green card in 2023.
