Adam Fox is an American professional ice hockey player. A defenseman, he plays for, and is alternate captain of, the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL); he has also played with the U.S. natonal team. He is nicknamed “Foxy.”
Adam is the son of Tammy and Bruce Fox. He is married to Tate Green, with whom he has a daughter. Tate is the daughter of professional football player and attorney Tim Green.
Adam’s paternal grandfather was Melvin Fox (the son of Bernard Fox and Celia Woldenberg). Melvin’s parents were Polish Jews. Bernard was born in Płock.
Adam’s paternal grandmother was Sally Alterman (the daughter of Morris Alterman and Minnie/Michle Boyarsky/Bajarski). Sally’s parents were Polish Jews/Belarusian Jews. Morris was the son of Louis Alterman and Sarah Kalmanowitz.
Adam’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Manoff.
