Adrian was born in Wrexham, Wales, the son of Barbadian parents, Beverly Dixon (Holmes) and Ronnie Spooner. His family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, when he was five. He is married to British-Nigerian actress Caroline Chikezie.
