Aidan Turner is an Irish actor. He is known for his role on Poldark , and in the The Hobbit film trilogy.
He is the son of Eileen and Pat Turner. He is married to American actress and filmmaker Caitlin FitzGerald, with whom he has one child.
Aidan’s paternal grandfather was named Bill Turner. Bill was born in Doon, County Limerick.
Aidan’s paternal grandmother is Bridget Turner, who is an amateur actress (born Bridget Eucharia McAuley, the daughter of James McAuley and Bridget/Bridie Nestor). Aidan’s grandmother Bridget was born in Boyanna, Castledaly, Athlone, County Westmeath. She is interviewed here . James was the son of James McAuley and Anne Duffy.
