Alaqua Cox is an American actress. She stars as Maya Lopez/Echo on Marvel’s television shows Hawkeye , Marvel Studios: Assembled , and Echo .

She was born and raised on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena. She was born deaf, and attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf. Part of her right leg is amputated, and she uses a prosthesis. Her cousin, Darnell Besaw, has played child versions of her character. Alaqua has two children with her fiancé.
