Alastair Cook is a British cricketer. An opening batsman, he played for Bedfordshire, Essex Cricket Board, and Essex. He was captain of the England Test and One-Day International (ODI) cricket teams, for a record 59 Tests; as well as 69 ODIs. He is also the most-capped English player ever.
He is the son of Stephanie Evans and Graham Cook. His mother is Welsh, from Swansea. He is married to Alice Hunt, with whom he has two children.
