Alex Morgan is an American professional soccer player. A striker, she played for West Coast FC, the California Storm, the Pali Blues, the Western New York Flash, the Seattle Sounders Women, the Portland Thorns, the Orlando Pride, Lyon, Tottenham Hotspur, and the San Diego Wave of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and played for and co-captained the U.S. national team. She played with the U.S. team when they won the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and co-captained and played with the team when they won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She is the daughter of Pamela and Michael Morgan. She was raised in Diamond Bar, California. Alex is married to professional soccer player Servando Carrasco, who is of Mexican heritage. The couple has two children. She is also known by her married name Alexandra Morgan Carrasco.
Alex’s maternal grandfather was Kenneth Erwin Jeske (the son of Edward Jeske and Bertha Melchert). Kenneth was born in Wisconsin. Edward was the son of German parents, Carl Jeske and Emilie Gutzmann. Bertha was born in Germany, the daughter of Wilhelm Melchert and Emilie Rahn.
Alex’s maternal grandmother was Rosemary Gertrude Smith (the daughter of Herbert/Hubertus Edward Smith and Gertrude Wiedenhoeft). Rosemary was born in Wisconsin. Herbert was the son of Dutch parents, Peter Smits and Johanna Tiesilink. Gertrude was the daughter of German parents, Herrmann August Wilhelm Wiedenhöft and Maria Albertine Laatsch.
Alex’s paternal grandparents possibly were George J. Morgan and Katherine Demetria Kalamaras.
