Aliya Mustafina is a Russian artistic gymnast. She has won 45 medals at the Olympic, World, and European Championships, and is considered one of the most successful gymnasts of all time. She is nicknamed “Queen.”
Her father, Farhat Mustafin (Farhat Ahatovich Mustafin), is a wrestler; he won a bronze medal in Greco-Roman wrestling as a bantamweight for the Soviet Union at the 1976 Summer Olympics. He is of Tatar descent. Her mother, Yelena Anatolyevna Kuznetsova, is a Russian physics teacher. Aliya has a daughter with her former husband, bobsledder Alexey Zaitsev.
