Amber is the daughter of Patricia and David Heard. Much of Amber’s family has lived in the United States for many generations. Amber has a daughter. She legally changed her name to Amber van Ree for a time, during her relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree; and was also known as Amber Laura Depp, during her marriage to actor and musician Johnny Depp .
Amber’s patrilineal line traces to Stephen Heard, who was born, c. 1715, in Ulster, Tyrone, Ireland.
