Amy Rodriguez is an American professional soccer player, and coach. A forward, she played with West Coast FC, Boston Breakers, Philadelphia Independence, FC Kansas City, Utah Royals, Kansas City, and North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and with the U.S. national team. She was assistant manager of USC Trojans, and manager of Utah Royals.
Amy’s paternal grandparents emigrated from Cuba. She is married to USC athlete Adam Shilling, with whom she has two children. She is a Christian.
Amy’s maternal grandfather is Vernon Allen McClelland, son of Elmo Allen McClelland and Laurita Fuller. Elmo was the son of John A. McClelland, an immigrant from England, and Mary R. Allen. Laurita was the daughter of Harry Fuller (son of Revils Fuller and Mary D. Everett) and Etta Patterson (daughter of James L. Patterson and Louella Webb).
Amy’s maternal grandmother is Joyce Charlotte McDougal, daughter of Maxfield R. McDougal and Ruth Martin. Maxfield was the son of Charles V. McDougal (son of Charles B. McDougal and Lucinda) and Margaret J. Ruth was the daughter of Eugene A. Martin and Caroline Strobel. Eugene was from Quebec, and was French-Canadian. Caroline was born in Minnesota to German parents Gottfried Strobel and Louisa Gleich.
