Andrea is the son of Edi (Aringhieri) and Alessandro Bocelli. He was raised on his family’s farm. His family sold farm machinery and made wine. He lost his vision at twelve, after being hit with a soccer ball.
Andrea is married to his manager Veronica Berti. He has two children, including singer Matteo Bocelli, with his former wife Enrica Cenzatti; and a daughter with Veronica.
Andrea’s paternal grandfather was named Alcide Bocelli (the son of Anselmo Bocelli). Alcide was born in Lajatico, Pisa. Anselmo was the son of Antonio Bocelli.
