Andrea Pirlo is an Italian professional footballer, and manager. A midfielder, he played for Brescia, Inter Milan, Reggina, AC Milan, Juventus, and New York City FC, and for the Italy national team and Italy Olympic (O.P.). He manages Dubai United. He previously managed Juventus U23, Juventus, Fatih Karagümrük, and Sampdoria. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever midfielders.
Andrea is the son of Livia Gatta and Luigi Pirlo, who founded a metal trading company, Elg Steel. He has two children with his former wife Deborah Roversi; and two children with his partner Valentina Baldini.
Andrea is sometimes described as having Romani ancestry, specifically Sinti, from his father’s side. In his autobiography, he wrote, “My family have always hailed from Lombardy. I’m from Brescia, I’m Italian, I’m not a Sinti.”
