My paternal grandmother was a Veracruzana [from Veracruz], who had African blood… my maternal grandfather was Spanish, from Cantabria; my maternal grandmother was also the daughter of Spaniards, from Asturias. My paternal grandfather, Lencho, Lorenzo López, was a Campesino [from Campeche], indigenous; I told you that he was a laborer and then ejidatario [worked in an area of communal land used for agriculture]. He died working the land, he is buried in an ejido in Campeche. He was my paternal grandfather, and he married Beatriz Ramón, who, I told you, was jarocha [from southern Veracruz] from the same Papaloapan basin, and since she had African blood, it turns out that I am a mixture of all races.
