Andrew Tate is an American-British internet personality, professional kickboxer, businessperson, and chess player. He is known for his role in the manosphere, and has gained notoriety for his views on gender roles, usually described as anti-feminist. He is also known as Cobra Tate and Top G.
Andrew is the son of Eileen Ashleigh and chess player Emory Tate (Emory Andrew Tate, Jr.). His father was American, from Chicago, and was of African-American and European descent, though he was not directly biracial; Andrew’s father had the chess title International Master. His mother was English, and likely of part Irish descent; she was a catering assistant. He was raised in Chicago, Illinois and Goshen, Indiana, before moving with his mother to Luton, Bedfordshire, England. He was raised Christian, and later converted to Islam. He moved with his brother Tristan to Romania in 2017; he also has citizenship in Vanuatu. He has at least several children.
Andrew’s paternal grandfather was Emory Andrew Tate, Sr. (the son of Robert Tate and Lizzie Burden). Emory was born in Georgia, and was African-American. He was a prominent attorney.
Andrew’s paternal grandmother was Emma Lillian Cox (the daughter of Ira Cox and Emma Davis Matthews).
