Andy Biersack is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. He is the founder and lead vocalist of rock band Black Veil Brides. He has starred in the film American Satan and on the show Paradise City . He is also known as Andy Six and Andy Black.
He is married to rock singer, songwriter, and poet Juliet Simms.
Andy’s paternal grandfather was Dennis Arthur Biersack (the son of Alois Joseph “Al” Biersack and Evelyn Louis Hanke). Dennis was born in Wisconsin. Alois was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph John Biersack, whose grandparents were all German emigrants, with his paternal side from Bavaria and his maternal side from North Rhine-Westphalia; and of Mary Catherine Haizlsperger, who was a German immigrant. Andy’s great-grandmother Evelyn was born in Wisconsin, the daughter of John W. Hanke, who was the son of German parents, from Prussia; and of Lillian/Lillie Hoffman, whose father was from Bavaria, Germany, and whose mother had English ancestry.
Andy’s paternal grandmother is named Margaret Alice.
Andy’s maternal grandfather was Urban Phalen Flanders (the son of Cyrus Glenn Flanders and Mary Cecilia/Cecelia Lynskey). Urban was born in Hartford, Connecticut. Cyrus was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Samuel Howard Flanders and Lillian Nancie Hammett. He had deep lines in the U.S., and was of mostly English descent. Andy’s great-grandmother Mary was born in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, the daughter of Irish parents, from Galway, Michael John Lynskey and Brigid Delia Agnes Brett.
Andy’s maternal grandmother was Anne/Anna Mary Kock (the daughter of Charles/Charlie Henry Kock and Alma F. Bushmiller). Anne was born in Ohio. Charles was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Wilhelm J. Kock, who was from Emsbüren, Lower Saxony, Germany, and of Henriette Eymann, who was also of German origin. Andy’s great-grandmother Alma was born in Ohio, the daughter of Heinrich/Henry Bushmiller and Anna Marie Heisle, who were born in Ohio, both of them to German parents, with Heinrich’s parents having been from Hanover.
