Angel Haze, known professionally as ROES, or as Raykeea Raeen-Roes Wilson, is an American rapper and singer. Angel has been signed to Universal Republic and Island Records.
Angel was born to a military family. Angel is said to be of African-American and Cherokee Native American ancestry, and is a self-taught speaker of Tsalagi, the language of the Cherokee people. Angel’s father died before Angel was born. Angel has said that Angel’s mother then met a preacher of the Greater Apostolic Faith, and Angel was raised around the influence of the faith. After Angel’s mother left the group, the family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York; when Angel was fifteen.
