Ann Reinking was an American dancer, actress, choreographer, and singer. Her roles include the films Movie Movie , All That Jazz , Annie (1982), and Micki & Maude ; as well as many stage works, including Over Here! , Goodtime Charley , Chicago , Dancin’ , and Sweet Charity .

Ann was the daughter of Frances and Walter Floyd Reinking, a hydraulic engineer. She was raised in Bellevue, Washington. She was married to Peter Talbert, until her death. Ann had a son with her former husband, businessperson James Stuart.

Ann’s paternal grandfather was Floyd Burton Reinking (the son of Ernest Detrich Reinking and Ruth Jane Stewart). Floyd was born in Des Moines, Iowa. Ernest was the son of German emigrants, Conrad “Dietrich” Wilhelm Reinking, from Oldvader’s Haus, Minden, Prussia; and Anna G. Ellinghausen, from Hanover, Lower Saxony. Ann’s great-grandmother Ruth was the daughter of Hugh Stewart, whose father was Scottish; and of Lucy Emeline Vice, who had deep American roots.

Ann’s paternal grandmother was Grace Mildred Walters (the daughter of Henry Walters and Jennie Hawley). Grace was born in Wisconsin. Henry was the son of Alsatian immigrants, George Walters and Salome Haverly. Jennie was the daughter of Dorman Dean Hawley and Malinda A. Heath, and had deep roots in the U.S.

Ann’s maternal grandfather was Max Harrison (the son of Dr. Isaac Marion Harrison and Agnes Barry Barlow). Max was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and had deep lines in the U.S. Isaac was the son of Joseph Patton Harrison and Eveline Simpson Seamands. Agnes was the daughter of William Wilson Barlow and Mary Bechtel.

Ann’s maternal grandmother was Kate Turner Holmes (the daughter of Henry Elliot Holmes and Kate Louise Turner). Ann’s grandmother Kate was born in Seattle, Washington, and had deep American roots. Henry was the son of Timon Miles Holmes and Nancy Sophia Cowles. Ann’s great-grandmother Kate was the daughter of Peter Helmer Turner and Lydia Ann Smith.
