Anthony’s paternal grandfather was Nicholas Carl Fontana/Fantano (the son of Pietro Giovanni Maria Fontana/Fantano and Carmella Bernardi). Nicholas was born in Wolcott, Connecticut, to Italian parents. Pietro was from Bocchigliero, Cosenza, Calabria, the son of Pasquale Fontana and Filomena De Filippis.
Anthony’s paternal grandmother was Jeanette/Jeannette Clara LeStage (the daughter of Arthur Joseph LeStage and Catherine Emily Soucy). Jeanette was born in Burlington, Vermont. Arthur was born in Burlington, the son of Janvier Lestage and Delia Perrotte, who were French-Canadian, from Québec. Anthony’s great-grandmother Catherine was born in Grand Isle, Aroostook, Maine, the daughter of Delvas George Soucy, who also had roots in Canada; and of Mary May Frazer, who was from Fraserville, Québec.

Wilfred was born in Canada, the son of Edouard Larocque and Marie Lena Laporte St George, who were French-Canadian, from Québec. Anthony’s great-grandmother Clarinda was the daughter of Andre Pelletier and Rose Plouffe, who were also French-Canadian, from Québec. Anthony’s great-grandmother Marie was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, to French-Canadian parents, Eugene Potvin and Marie Azilda Charest, with origins in Québec.
