Anthony Hamilton is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Aside of being a solo artist, he has been a member of R&B and neo soul supergroup The Soultronics. D’Angelo and Questlove were also members of The Soultronics.

He was raised by his mother. He has six children, including three with his former wife, background singer Tarsha McMillan.

A DNA test of Anthony found that his matrilineal ancestry is from the Masa, Mafa, and Kotoko peoples of Cameroon.

Anthony’s maternal grandfather was named Robert L. Hamilton.

Anthony’s maternal grandmother was Geneva Truesdale (the daughter of Allen “Bud” Truesdale/Trusdale/Trusdel and Ellen McMillian/Millian). Geneva was born in South Carolina. Allen was born in South Carolina, the son of Manuel Truesdale/Trusdale/Trusdel and Mary Hough. Ellen was born in South Carolina, the daughter of Rachel.
