Anthony had said that he had Jewish heritage, sometimes stated to be his maternal grandmother. It is not clear if this is accurate.
Anthony’s maternal grandfather was Arthur Newley (the son of George Newley and Rebecca Short). Arthur was born in Bethnal Green, Middlesex. George was the son of Benjamin Newley and Sarah Berry.
Anthony’s maternal grandmother was named Frances/Francis Rosetta Morris (the daughter of George Henry Morris and Sarah).
