Antoine Fuqua is an American filmmaker, producer, and comic artist. He has directed the films The Replacement Killers , Bait (2000), Training Day , Tears of the Sun , King Arthur (2004), Shooter (2007), Brooklyn’s Finest , Olympus Has Fallen , The Equalizer (2014), Southpaw , The Magnificent Seven (2016), The Equalizer 2 , Infinite , The Guilty (2021), Emancipation (2022), The Equalizer 3 , and Michael (2026); and the television documentaries American Dream/American Knightmare and What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali . He has directed many music videos, including “I’ll Do 4 U,” “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game),” “I Can’t Wait Another Minute,” “All I See,” “I Can’t Go for That,” “Another Sad Love Song,” “Nobody Does It Betta,” “Ain’t Nobody,” “Somewhere,” “For Your Love,” “Freedom,” “Gangsta’s Paradise,” “Someday,” “Blue Angels,” “Citizen/Soldier,” and “Mirror.”

The surname Fuqua occurs among African-Americans. Antoine is married to actress Lela Rochon . He has three children, including two with Lela.

He has said that he prefers not to be called a “Black filmmaker,” and be known as simply a filmmaker.

Antoine is a nephew of rhythm and blues singer, songwriter, record producer, and record label executive Harvey Fuqua, of the band the Moonglows, and a great-nephew of musician Charlie Fuqua, of the Ink Spots.
