Ásgeir Trausti is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and musician. He is also known as Ásgeir.
He is the son of Pálína Fanney Skúladóttir and Einar Georg Einarsson.
Ásgeir’s paternal grandfather was Einar Methúsalem Jóhannesson (the son of Jóhannes Einar Jóhannesson and Árný Geirdís Árnadóttir). Jóhannes was the son of Jóhannes Jóhannesson and Guðrún Jónsdóttir. Geirdís was the daughter of Jóhann Árni Helgason and Anna Sigríður Sigurðardóttir.
Ásgeir’s paternal grandmother was Sólveig Bergþóra Þorsteinsdóttir (the daughter of Þorsteinn Brandsson and Þóra Jónsdóttir). Þorsteinn was the son of Brandur Þorsteinsson and Ólafía Gissursdóttir. Þóra was the duaghter of Jón Egilsson and Margrét Guðmundsdóttir.
