Austin’s paternal grandfather was Charles Theodore Fryberger (the son of Philip Steiner Fryberger and Lavinia Grace Scattergood). Charles was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philip was the son of Charles Theodore Fryberger and Ida V. Steiner. Grace was the daughter of Henry W. Scattergood and Anne Ford Barnett, whose parents were English.
Austin’s paternal grandmother was Nancy Ann Barnett (the daughter of Carl Harry Barnett and Jennie B. McHatton). Carl was the son of William Harrison Barnett and Louisianna Boyd. Jennie was the daughter of Robert Everson McHatton and Sarah Alice Ward.
Austin’s maternal grandfather was Loris Leroy Studd (the son of Lee Leroy Studd and Essie Meabon). Lee was the son of John Studd, who was English, and of Nellie Patterson. Essie was the daughter of Marion Freemont Meabon and Elenora Louella Nichols.
