Zaratzian, who was born in Sivas, Turkey, of Armenian descent; and of Marian/Mariam S. Misakian/Masakian, who was born in New Jersey, to also to ethnic Armenian parents, from Turkey. Ava’s great-grandmother Virginia was born in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph R. Clarkson and Ellen/Helene/Allene Moore.
