Aviva Drescher is an American author, lawyer, socialite, and reality television personality. She is known for appearing in seasons 5 and 6 of The Real Housewives of New York City .
Aviva is the daughter of Ingrid Kramer and George Teichner. Her mother was an emigrant from Germany. At the age of six, Aviva was injured by farm equipment, causing the amputation of her leg. She has since become an advocate and fundraiser for amputee charities.
She is married to Reid Drescher, who is a cousin of actress and activist Fran Drescher . She has a son with her former husband Harry Dubin; and two children with Reid.
Aviva’s paternal grandfather was Abraham Robert Teichner (the son of Israel Teichner and Gussie Stern). Abraham was born in New York City, New York, to Jewish parents from Galicia, in Austria/Poland. Israel was the son of Jacob Teichner and Tobi Brinos. Aviva’s great-grandmother Gussie was the daughter of Joel Stern and Yetta Julia Spiesman.
Aviva’s maternal grandmother was Sylvia Beulah Bloom (the daughter of William Bloom and Bella Schick). Sylvia was born in New York. William was born England, to Polish Jewish parents, Michael Bloom/Blume and Amelia Millie/Milly Whitman. Aviva’s great-grandmother Bella was a Hungarian Jewish immigrant, the daughter of Bernard Schick and Rose Kraus.
