Beau Bridges is an American actor and director. He is a three-time Emmy, two-time Golden Globe, and one-time Grammy Award winner.

He is the son of actors Lloyd Bridges (Lloyd Vernet Bridges, Jr.) and Dorothy Bridges (Dorothy Dean Simpson). His brother is actor Jeff Bridges (Jeffrey Leon Bridges). He has five children, three with his wife, Wendy Treece, and two, including actor Jordan Bridges , with his former wife Julie Landfield.

His father was from a family that had long lived in the U.S., with partly deep roots in Vermont.

Beau’s paternal grandfather was Lloyd Vernet Bridges (the son of John Hewston Bridges and Minnie Ellen Hortense Tibbetts/Tibbits/Stanwood). Lloyd was born in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. He owned a movie theatre and was involved in the hotel business. John was born in Benton, Otero County, Colorado, or in Arkansas, to parents from North Carolina, James Graham Bridges and Dorothy Parthena Jane Cabe. Beau’s great-grandmother Minnie was born in Houston, Minnesota, the daughter of Sidney/Sydney Tibbetts/Tibbits, who was from Vermont; and of Eleanor/Mary Ellen Titus, who was born in Ontario, Canada.

Beau’s paternal grandmother was Harriet Evelyn “Hattie” Brown (the daughter of Prairie Frank Brown and Mary/Maria/Marie Elizabeth Barnhill). Harriet was born in Cuba, Republic County, Kansas. Prairie was born in Jones County, Iowa, the son of parents from Vermont, Emerson Elisha Brown and Gratia Allbee/Albee.
