Ber’s paternal grandfather was Wayne Dybing (the son of Clarence Dybing and Clara Solberg). Wayne was born in Harvey, North Dakota, to Norwegian parents.

Ber’s paternal grandmother was LoAnn Anderson (the daughter of Perry Andreas Anderson and Lilly Bertine Rodne). LoAnn was born in Manfred, North Dakota, to Norwegian-American parents. Perry was the son of Peter Andreas Bech Anderson, who was from Innigarden, Ravatnet i Vefsn; and of Anna Dorthea Nilsdatter, who was from Valryggen i Grane.
