Bethanie Mattek-Sands is an American professional tennis player. She has won nine Grand Slam titles (five in women’s doubles, four in mixed doubles) and an Olympic gold medal. She was a world No. 1 in doubles.
She was raised between Neenah, Wisconsin, and Florida. Her parents are pictured here . Bethanie is married to insurance executive Justin Sands.
Bethanie’s paternal grandfather was named John W. Mattek (the son of John Mattek and Celia). John was born in Wisconsin, to a Bohemian father, August Mattek, and to a mother from Wisconsin, Minnie, whose parents were German. Celia was also born in Wisconsin, to Bohemian parents.
Bethanie’s paternal grandmother was named Elsie.
