Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir is an Icelandic model and beauty pageant winner. She represented Iceland in Miss Universe 2019. She was the first mixed-race woman and the first woman of color to have won Miss Universe Iceland.
Her mother, Hafdís Heiðarsdóttir, is Icelandic and her biological father is of African descent. Some websites state that her father is Congolese. Birta never knew her father and was adopted by her Icelandic stepfather, whose surname she took. She has said that she was subjected to racial abuse when growing up.
