Bob Cousy is an American professional basketball player. A point guard, he played for the Boston Celtics and the Cincinnati Royals of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a coach for Boston College and the Cincinnati Royals/Kansas City-Omaha Kings. He appeared in the film Blue Chips .

Bob is the son of Juliette, a secretary and French teacher, and Joseph Cousy, a cab driver. His father was French, from Belfort, and served in the Imperial German Army during WWI. His mother was born in New York, to French parents. He was raised in Yorkville, on Manhattan’s East Side, and Astoria and St. Albans, Queens. Bob was married to Missie Ritterbusch, until her death, with whom he had two children.

Bob’s maternal grandfather was named Clement Corlet.

Bob’s maternal grandmother was named Marie Jacob.
