Bobby Doerr was an American professional baseball player, and coach. A second baseman, he played all fourteen years of his professional career with the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Bobby was the son of Frances Ida and Harold Austin Doerr. He was married to Monica Terpin, until her death, with whom he had a son.

Bobby’s paternal grandfather was John Reuben Doerr (the son of Phillip/Philipp Henry Heinrich/Doerr and Mary Theresa Michaels). John was born in Missouri. Phillip was born in Deggendorf, Lower Bavaria, Bavaria, Germany, the son of Johann Andreas/Andrew Doerr and Christina Susanna Sophia Doerr.
