Bobcat Goldthwait is an American actor, voice actor, comedian, director, and screenwriter. He has directed and written the films Shakes the Clown , which he also starred in; Sleeping Dogs Lie (2006), World’s Greatest Dad , God Bless America , and Willow Creek ; and directed the documentary film Call Me Lucky and the made-for-tv movie Windy City Heat . His roles also include the Police Academy franchise, the films One Crazy Summer , Burglar (1987), Hot to Trot , Scrooged , Freaked , Radioland Murders , Destiny Turns on the Radio , Back to Back , Sweethearts , Disney’s Hercules (1997), Rusty: A Dog’s Tale , and Lion of Oz ; the shows Tales from the Crypt , Capitol Critters , Are You Afraid of the Dark? , The Moxy Show , which he also wrote for; Space Ghost Coast to Coast , Unhappily Ever After , Hercules: The Animated Series , The Man Show , Skylanders Academy , and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe ; the made-for-tv movie Dog’s Best Friend , and the video game Skylanders . He also created, directed, and wrote the show Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters ; and directed episodes of the shows The Man Show , Jimmy Kimmel Live! , Important Things with Demetri Martin , Maron , and Those Who Can’t , and numerous comedy specials. He has also been billed as Jack Cheese and Bob Goldthwait.
Bobcat is the son of Kathleen, a department store employee, and Thomas Lincoln Goldthwait, a sheet metal worker. Bobcast is married to Scottish actress and director Pollyanna McIntosh. He has two children with his former wife Ann Luly. Bobcat was raised Catholic.
Bobcat’s patrilineal line can be traced to Samuel Goldthwaite, who was born, c. 1637, in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, to English parents, Thomas Goldthwaite and Elizabeth.
Bobcat’s paternal grandfather was Frank Squire/Square Goldthwait (the son of Frank E. Goldthwait and Anna Bartlett). Bobcat’s grandfather Frank was born in New York, and had considerable Colonial American ancestry. Bobcat’s great-grandfather Frank was the son of Squire Ferguson Goldthwait and Elizabeth/Eliza Moore.
