Booba is a French rapper and businessperson. He started his career in hip hop duo Lunatic in the 1990s, with Ali. He is one of the best-selling artists in France. He is also known as B2OBA, B2O, Kopp, Le Duc de Boulogne (The Duke of Boulogne), and Saddam Hauts-de-Seine.
Booba was born in Boulogne-Billancourt, the son of Lucie Borsenberger and Seydou Nourou Yaffa. His father is a Soninke, from Bakel, in east Senegal who moved to France as a teenager, and worked as a model and Funk singer in the 1970s. His mother was born in Ollioules, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and is of Belgian, German (from Moselle), and distant French, descent. His mother is often said to be Jewish or Moroccan Jewish, though this is not the case.
Booba has two children with his former partner, Venezuelan make-up artist Patricia Cerqueira Vinces.
Booba’s maternal Borsenberger line can be traced to Adrian Burgenberger/Borsenberger, who was born, c. 1665, in Belgium.
Booba’s maternal grandfather was Charles Eugène Borsenberger (the son of Jean Eugène Borsenberger and Barbe Fuchs). Charles was born in Bitche, Alsace-Lorraine, and was a professional footballer. Jean was the son of Jean Louis Borsenberger and Marie Catherine Schang, who were from Freybouse, Moselle, Lorraine. Booba’s great-great grandfather Jean Louis was the son of Jean Borsenberger and Anne Marx.
Booba’s maternal grandmother was named Huguette Claude Warmaud.
