Brad Ausmus is an American professional baseball player, coach, and manager. A catcher, he played for the San Diego Padres, the Detroit Tigers, the Houston Astros, and the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He manaed the Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Angels. He coaches the New York Yankees. He previously coached the Oakland Athletics.
Brad is the son of Linda and Harry Ausmus. His father is Protestant. His mother is Jewish. His father is a professor of European history, and wrote A Schopenhauerian Critique of Nietzsche’s Thought .
Brad is married to Liz, with whom he has two children.
