Brady Quinn is an American professional football player, and sports analyst. A quarterback, he was with the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Seattle Seahawks, the New York Jets, the St. Louis Rams, and the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for college. He was drafted by the Browns in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Brady is the son of Robin and Tyrone Quinn. His sisters, Laura and Kelly, are married to professional football player A. J. Hawk and professional ice hockey player Jack Johnson, respectively.

Brady is married to Olympic silver medalist gymnast Alicia Sacramone, with whom he has five children.

Brady’s paternal grandfather was Thomas James Quinn (the son of George James Quinn and Ruth Wilhelmina Peterson). Thomas was born in Denver, Colorado. George was born in Columbia, Colorado, the son of Irish parents, Bernard Quinn and Rose Anna McDermott. Brady’s great-grandmother Ruth was born in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Swedish parents, Peter Peterson and Wilhelmina Johnson.

Brady’s paternal grandmother was Charlene I. Manners (the daughter of Charles Irving Manners, Sr. and Mildred Augusta Fischer). Charlene was born in Colorado. Charles was born in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Charles Ishmael Manners, who was English; and of Marie Antoinette Schmit, who was French, and was of Luxembourgish ancestry. Brady’s great-grandmother Mildred was born in Walden, Jackson County, Colorado, the daughter of Peter Weimer Fischer, who had German heritage; and of Lena Estella Butler, who was of Colonial New England ancestry, with deep roots in Maine and Massachusetts.

Brady’s maternal grandfather was Thomas Scott Slates (the son of Thomas Corwin Slates and Myrtle Lucille Harmon). Brady’s grandfather Thomas was born in Kilgore, Carroll, Ohio. Brady’s great-grandfather Thomas was born in Louden, Carroll, the son of Nelson Elsworth Slates and Oella Bird McGary/McGarry, whose own paternal grandfather was Irish, and whose own maternal grandmother was Canadian, from New Brunswick, originally of Pennsylvania Dutch (German) descent. The Slates line originates with German emigrants from Kassel, Hessen; and Nelson’s German roots also include the Palatinate; Herbitzheim, in Alsace; and Diemtigen, Bern, Switzerland. Brady’s great-grandmother Myrtle was born in Germano, Harrison, Ohio, the daughter of Homer Slates Harmon and Minnie P. Harman/McIntire.
