Bryce Harper is an American professional baseball player. An outfielder and first baseman, he plays for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously with the Washington Nationals.
Bryce was raised in an LDS (Mormon) family. His father is an iron worker. His brother, Bryan Harper, is also a professional baseball player, a pitcher. Bryce is married to Kayla Varner, with whom he has four children.
Bryce’s paternal grandfather was Harvey Harper (the son of Willie Culton Harper and Ruby Bell McClung). Harvey was born in New Mexico. Willie was born in Jacksburgh, Texas. Ruby was born in New Mexico, the daughter of Rolly Wilson McClung and Margie Florence Hyatt.
Bryce’s paternal grandmother was was Rita Yvonne James (the daughter of Jesse/Jessie Autho James and Grace Beulah Compton). Rita was born in Pensacola, Escambia, Florida.
