Cal Raleigh is an American professional baseball player. A catcher, he plays for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is nicknamed “Big Dumper.”

Cal is the son of Stephanie and Todd Raleigh, a collegiate basketball player coach, and player, who coached Western Carolina and the Tennessee Volunteers. His uncle, Matt, played minor league baseball.

Cal’s paternal grandfather Robert Bernard Raleigh (the son of John Richard Raleigh and Flora Martha Bombardier). John was born in Vermont, the son of Maurice Sylvester Raleigh and Lillian J. Richard. Flora was born in Québec, Canada, the daughter of Phillippe Louis Bombardier and Elizabeth Melanie Fregeau.
