Camila Cabello is an American singer and songwriter. She is known for her songs “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Bad Things,” “Havana,” “Never Be the Same,” “Señorita,” and “Bam Bam.” She was a member of girl group Fifth Harmony, along with Ally Brooke , Dinah Jane , Lauren Jauregui , and Normani . She has starred in the films Cinderella (2021), Trolls Band Together , and Rob Peace ; and was a contestant on The X Factor .
Camila was born in Benito Juárez, Mexico City, Mexico, to a Cuban mother, Sinuhe Cabello Rodríguez, and a Mexican father, Alejandro Cabello Capistrán, who is from Mexico City. She lived in Cuba and Mexico City, before moving to Miami, Florida, U.S., during her early childhood.
Camila’s paternal great-grandfather was Próculo Capistrán (Leocadio Próculo Capistrano Reyes, the son of Marcos Capistrano and Maria Gertrudis Reyes). Próculo was born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. He was a soldier, who fought in the Mexican Revolution alongside guerrilla leader Emiliano Zapata.
Camila’s maternal grandmother was named Mercedes Rodríguez.
