Candace’s paternal grandmother was Ann/Anna Sue/Zuzan Keracik (the daughter of George Keracik and Anna Rosko). Ann was born in Illinois, also to parents from Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia).
Candace’s maternal grandfather was Roy George Ahrens (the son of Charles Christian “Chas” Ahrens and Clara Franklein Roth/Rath). Charles was the son of Charles Ahrens and Helena Dorothea Friederica “Phoebe” Spangenberg, who were both German. Clara was the daughter of Henry Rath and Doras/Dora Lindemann, who were also both German.
Candace’s maternal grandmother was Catherine/Katherine Potter (the daughter of Roscoe Blanchard Potter and Bessie Mae DeLong). Roscoe was the son of Sylvester Potter, who was Canadian, and of Flora E. Blanchard. Bessie was the daughter of Nathaniel R. DeLong and Virginia “Jennie” DeSaviour, whose own father was French.
