Carl Barât is a British musician. He is the co-vocalist and guitarist of rock band The Libertines. He was previously the lead guitarist of rock band Dirty Pretty Things.
Carl is the son of Christine and Derek Barât. He has stated that aside from English, has he French, Russian, and Polish ancestry. Carl has two children with his partner Edie Langley.
Carl’s paternal grandfather was Derek Arthur Arnold Barât (the son of George Francis Hugh Barât and Gertrude Matilda Parke). Derek was born in Lambeth, London, England. George was the son of Joseph Charles Francis Michael Barât and Lillian Elizabeth Sarah Ward. Gertrude was the daughter of James Arthur Parke and Margaret Helena Carrroll.
