Carla Gugino is an American actress and model. She is the daughter of Susan and Carl F. Gugino, a prominent orthodontist, who co-developed the first computerized cephalometric and visual treatment objective (VTO) program. She was raised between Sarasota, FL, and Paradise, California, where she lived with her mother. Her maternal grandfather was leading aircraft propulsion engineer and designer Neil Burgess, Jr. Her maternal aunt, by marriage, is spokesmodel Carol Merrill.
Carla’s paternal grandfather was Anthony Samuel Gugino (the son of Anthony Gugino and Domenica Mancuso). Carla’s grandfather Anthony was born in Valledolmo, Città Metropolitana di Palermo, Sicily, Italy. Domenica was the daughter of Agostino Mancuso and Vincenza Marie Vacanti.
