Carrie Ann Inaba is an American television personality, dancer, choreographer, actress, and singer. She has been a judge on Dancing with the Stars , a host of the show The Talk , and a co-star, one of the “Fly Girls,” of the show In Living Color .

Her surname is Japanese. She won a talent show at eighteen, in 1986, and moved to Japan, where she was a pop singer and idol for several years.

Carrie’s paternal grandfather was named Norman Inaba (the son of a father surnamed Inaba, and of Hatsuyo Miyamoto). Norman’s paternal grandparents were Riemon Inaba and Iwa. Hatsuyo was born in Hiroshima, the daughter of Shinkichi Miyamoto and Oharu.

Carrie’s paternal grandmother was named Thelma Fujii.

Carrie’s maternal grandfather was James Yip Typond (the son of Yip Typond and Grace Sene). James’s parents were Chinese.
