Carrie Coon is an American actress. Her roles include the films Gone Girl , Strange Weather , The Keeping Hours , Izzy Gets the F*ck Across Town , The Post (2017), The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter , Avengers: Infinity War , Kin , Widows (2018), The Nest (2020), Ghostbusters: Afterlife , and its sequel, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire ; Boston Strangler (2023), His Three Daughters , and Lake George ; and the shows The Leftovers , Fargo , The Sinner , The Gilded Age , and The White Lotus ; as well as many acclaimed stage performances.
She is married to playwright and actor Tracy Letts , with whom she has two children.
Carrie’s paternal grandfather was Ralph Dwight Coon (the son of Elmer F. Coon and Helen May Holshue). Ralph was born in Ohio. Elmer was the son of Byron Coon and Mary E. Messner. Helen was the daughter of Ira W. Holshue and Ella Leora Knecht.
