Theodore was born in Illinois, to German parents, Johann Herman Albers and Margaretha Wegener. Helena was born in Iowa, also to parents from Germany, Franz Wilhelm Ferdinand “Frank” Schmeling and Amelie Christian.
Chantelle’s paternal grandmother was Florence Louise Bagnell (the daughter of Richard Harvey Bagnell and Anna L. Ellis). Florence was born in North Dakota. Richard was born in North Dakota, the son of Patrick Henry Bagnell, who was Irish; and of Amelia Mary Morgan. Chantelle’s great-grandmother Anna was born in Minnesota, the daughter of John Calvin Ellis, who was Canadian, from Nova Scotia; and of Sarah E. Dorsey.
