Charles Herbert was an American actor. He was a prominent child actor in the 1950s and 1960s. His roles included the films The Colossus of New York , The Fly (1958), Houseboat , The Man in the Net , Please Don’t Eat the Daisies , The Boy and the Pirates , and 13 Ghosts (1960); and the series The Donna Reed Show , Men Into Space , and The Farmer’s Daughter .

Charles was the son of Pearl Jean (Diamond) and Louis Saperstein. His father was born in New York, to Russian Jewish/Polish Jewish parents. His mother was an Austrian Jewish immigrant.

Charles’s paternal grandfather was named Morris Saperstein (the son of Chana Rochel “Anna”).

Charles’s paternal grandmother was Feige/Fannie Goniadzski (the daughter of Avram Goniandski and Dvorah Merans). Feige was born in Goniądz, Mońki, Podlaskie, Poland. Avram was the son of Eliezer Natan Gonionski. Dvorah was the daughter of Hirsch/Hirtz/Tzvi Naftali Merrens/Maranc and Zlate.
