He was born to African-American parents, Mary Louise (Bryant) and Norris Tucker, and was raised in Decatur, Georgia. He has a son with his former wife Azja Pryor.
Chris’s paternal grandfather was named D. Tucker.
Chris’s paternal grandmother was named Sarah/Sara Lee Sims.
Chris’s maternal grandfather was The Rev. Theodore Arthur Bryant, Jr. (the son of Theodore Arthur Bryant, Sr. and Zudie/Zudia Waits). Chris’s grandfather The Rev. Theodore was born in Georgia. Chris’s great-grandfather Theodore was born in DeKalb County, Georgia, the son of Spencer Bryant and Mary Ann Shoemaker. Zudie was the daughter of Crawford Waits and Ella King.
Chris’s maternal grandmother was Flora B. Robinson/Thomas (the daughter of John Robinson and Mary Harris). Flora was born in Georgia. John was the son of Joseph Robinson and Sarah De Lamar/DeLamar. Mary was the daughter of Daniel Harris and Flora Allen.
