Christopher Briney is an American actor. His roles include the series The Summer I Turned Pretty , and the related audiobook We’ll Always Have Summer ; and the films Dalíland and Mean Girls (2024).

His parents, Kelly Briney and Michael Briney, were/are actors. He has deep Colonial American roots on both sides, as well as some more recent immigrant ancestors.

Christopher’s paternal grandfather was Richard Clay Briney (the son of Alonzo Tripp Briney and Helen Marie Hardman). Richard was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and had deep American roots. Alonzo was born in Pittsburgh, the son of Harold Arnold Briney and Isabel King Weir. Helen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph P. Hardman, whose maternal grandfather was Irish; and of Amelia K. Bertolet, whose maternal grandparents were German.

Christopher’s paternal grandmother was Dorothy Carroll Parrish (the daughter of Carroll Prewitt Parrish and Margaret Elizabeth Bogard). Dorothy was born in Saint David, Cochise, Arizona, and had deep roots in the U.S. Christopher’s great-grandfather Carroll was born in Hamilton, Butler, Ohio, the son of Henry Prewitt Parrish and Bertha Mae Dye. Christopher’s maternal grandfather was Mitchell Smith Kelly (the son of Charles Henry Kelly and Anice Bain). Mitchell was born in Lindsay, Victoria, Ontario, Canada. Charles was born in Ancaster, Ontario, the son of Henry Kelly and Melissa Alice Smith; he had deeper ancestry in the northeastern U.S., as well as some French-Canadian and German forebears. Houghton was born in Bloomington, McLean, Illinois, the son of Francis Eugene Van Buskirk and Cora Estelle Andrus. Margaret was born in Mansfield, Richland, Ohio, the daughter of Bertram/Bertie Frederick Mumm, whose father was German, and whose mother was English; and of Georgia Belle Snyder.
