Christy’s paternal grandmother was Florencer Louise Marra (the daughter of Joseph Anthony Marra and Mildred Fernicola). Florence was born in Newark, New Jersey. Joseph was an Italian emigrant, from Sant’Anna, Calabria. Mildred was the daughter of Italian emigrants, likely from Abruzzo.

Christy’s maternal grandfather was William Conrad “Bill” Carlson (the son of Hjalmar Conrad Carlson and Karolina Andersson). William was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Hjalmar was born in Houtskär, Finland, of Finland-Swedish descent, the son of Carl Carlsson and Mathilda Gustavsson. Karolina was a Swedish emigrant, from Tanum, Västra Götaland, the daughter of Peter Andersson and Anna Stina Hansdotter.

Christy’s maternal grandmother was Virginia Adrian “Ginny” Maier (the daughter of Louis H. Maier and Elizabeth Freiberg). Virginia was born in Newport, Kentucky. Louis was the son of Joseph Maier, a German emigrant, from Eschach, Ravensburg, Baden-Württemberg; and of Ida Hulda Sobotka, whose parents were ethnic Polish emigrants, from Königsberg, then Prussia, German Empire. Christy’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was the daughter of August Freiberg, a German emigrant, from Hannover, Lower Saxony; and of Rebecca Caroline Stitzinger, whose parents were also German, from Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg.
