Her brother is actor Christopher Khayman Lee (born Potts), of Power Rangers in Space . She was partly raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and then Miami, Florida. Chyler is married to actor, musician, and singer Nathan West, with whom she has three children.
Chyler’s paternal grandfather was Robert Louis Potts (the son of Arthur Mel Potts and Bess/Bessie V. C. Crews). Robert was born in Culbertson, Nebraska. Arthur was the son of Edsell/Edsall Potts and Harriett Hattie Strong. Bess was the daughter of James Matthew Crews and Martha Melcena Varner.
