Claude Bartolone is a French politician. He has served as Delegate Minister for the City, from 30 March, 1998 to 6 May, 2002, President of the General Council of Seine-Saint-Denis, from 20 March, 2008 to 4 September, 2012, and President of the National Assembly, from 26 June, 2012 to 20 June, 2017; as well as, a Member of the French National Assembly for Seine-Saint-Denis’s 6th, and then for Seine-Saint-Denis’s 9th, cumulatively, from 2 July, 1981 to 20 June, 2017.
His father, Philippe Bartolone, was of Italian Sicilian descent. His mother, Carmen “Mena” (Attard), was Maltese. He is married to Véronique Ragusa. He was previously married to Giulieta Luyisutti.
Claude’s paternal grandfather was named Filippo Bartolone. Filippo was an Italian emigrant, from Forza d’Agrò, Messina.
Claude’s paternal grandmother was named Maria Russo. Maria was an Italian emigrant, from Camaro Superiore, Messina.
